My friend GETkristiLOVE, the greatest of the 18's , has a hockeywear business also. To get more ideas for her, and because I am trapped on the never ending conference call from hell, here are some of my favorites at cafepress:

SMU says No to GW's "Learnin Shed"

Methodists: No Bush library at SMU By ANGELA K. BROWN Associated Press Writer DALLAS (AP) -- A group of Methodist ministers from across the nation launched an online petition drive Thursday urging Southern Methodist University to stop trying to land George W. Bush's presidential library. The petition, on a newly created Web site, http://www.protectsmu.org , says that "as United Methodists, we believe that the linking of his presidency with a university bearing the Methodist name is utterly inappropriate."

The Golden Globes

While I wait for Vikki's breakdown of what went on at the Golden Globes last night, I'll let you know my favorite parts: Hugh Laurie's acceptance speech was great. I love his brand of humor, starting off with "I am speechless, no, really I am literally without a speech." Following that line up with thanking the shows wonderful crew, he realized that sounded a bit cliche. Then he said "Logically, all the crews can't be good, somebody, somewhere is working with a crew of drunken thieves, but not me. They smell of newly mown grass." America Ferrera was a bit of a breath of fresh air, not only for the role she plays, but for her seemingly honest humility at receiving the award. Nice speech also where she mentioned she hears every day from girls inspired by her character, Betty Suarez, saying it "truly brings a new face to television.

Of Pillow Angels, Ashley, and where do you draw the line

There was a story run in the LA Times recently, where a family out of Seattle whose 9-year-old daughter stopped developing cognitively at age 3 months. The family, worried she would grow too big for them to take care of her at home, and include her as much as they want to, decided to effectively stop her growth. She had a hysterectomy and high-dose estrogen treatments and is expected to get no bigger than about 4-and-a-half feet and 75 pounds. Here is a link to a story that ran in the LA Times: http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/la-na-stunt3jan03,1,3070121.story?ctrack=1&cset=true This has also been talked about on CBS news: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/06/eveningnews/main2335079.shtml One of my friends on the listserver I belong to called our-kids was interviewed. Check it out, she makes some good points, and represents "us". The parents made a website to explain their "side" of the story: http://ashleytreatment.spaces.live.com/blog/ Lots of tro

Why I love her...

Image
What makes two people stay together for 24 years? Is it that they like the same things, or that there is some deep bond? Maybe it's just that they are simply best friends. This is my Christmas card from my wonderful wife Kathy. I think that it's because we both share the same sense of humor, don't you??? I love you.

It's got a catchy tune, and you can dance to it. I'll give it a 9...

Just received this from a friend and had to share it right away. A word of warning - those easily offended by the words Jesus and Penis in the same sentence, don't bother...

The reason to watch Greys Anatomy

Image
SAG award nominations are out and my favorite character, Bailey from Greys Anatomy is up! Chandra Wilson is exceptional in her role, and shows a range that most of the other characters on TV can never come close to. When she went before the M&M board to discuss why one of her Interns screwed up so bad, you just cringed at how they treated her. She makes you care about her character, which is pretty rare...
