No, that's two clicks Senator, not one, just click it twice fast! NO! twice!

Did you all see the NY Times interview of McCain yesterday? Lot's of typical blah, blah, blah we have come to expect during election years, but I was struck by the fact that he let's other people handle that tough task of getting logged on and going online. My God, do we really want our military arsenal in the hands of some guy who hasn't yet mastered the double click of an icon?

Some of the interview:
"The Times asked, "Do you go online yourself?" McCain, referring to his aides answered, "They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don't expect to be a great communicator, I don't expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need - including going to my daughter's blog first, before anything else. ... I don't e-mail; I've never felt the particular need to e-mail. I read e-mails all the time, but the communications that I have with my friends and staff are oral and done with my cell phone."

I will have that down fairly soon?!? How tough is that task there Senator? Need a few more weeks of practice, some hands on labs or something? Get a logon, I recommend McSame, and a password, try something like "howlingmad", clicky clicky and you are there!

Holy tap-dancin Jesus, this guy might just win too...

I'd like to see Jesus tap dancing....thats funny.....I have known several people that do not use a computer for anyhting....my mom, she's afraid of any thing she thinks is mechanical.....my mother inlaw...she is afraid of everything......and the sales guy G man employees...after 4 years of learning he can finally get online to research boat prices, trips to Disney, insurance quotes, but can't seem to master spell check or sending emails, or writing quotes, or adding PAR's and has to have the women in the office do all that for him....hhhmmmm funny how selective his abilities are....

  2. that's nuts. Absolutely nuts. And what's more, all it does is show that people in power are completely and utterly distanced from the Common Man. It's like when Bushie Sr. was surprised to see scanners in the grocery store: he's never BEEN shopping like us Plebians!!

My god. To even ADMIT to something like this goes to show how out-of-touch you are w/the rest of reality.

  3. My 90 year old grandma has been able to master WebTV for a few years now. She can even print out pictures. What's this jackhole's problem?? It is quite frightening to think that this guy has a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but there it is.

  4. Cannot. Stop. Laughing. "I will have that down very soon."

This just puts so much into perspective for me. I remember trying to teach my grandmother how to navigate the internet and email on a hand-me-down laptop. Needless to say she still hasn't been able to "unlock" her "internet machine" and "type out some letters."

Dear god if we elect this man I'm moving to Mexico.

What do you expect, he was born before the invention of the six pack. He's probably still wondering what ever happened to Whiteout.

The communications he has are oral and done with his cell phone? Good God, no wonder his wife's face looks like she's half scared all the time.

  7. Cheer: Jesus had madd tap dancing skillz, it just didn't make it into the last draft of the bible.

Captain: I agree, these people should all be required to work a regular job for at least 5 years before becoming a politician.

Beth: You kids get off my lawn!!!

MM: I really like the term Jackhole. I am going to steal that!

Falwless: One of those fancy resorts or are you going to try mexico city?

Kirby: He puts whiteout on the computer screen, really pisses off his secretary.

Suze: I believe that part of the half scared look is too much botox.

  8. I saw today a poll that said that people trust McCain regarding security matters than Obama. Jesus Mary and Joseph-- my son has been able to get on the internet since he was old enough to handle a mouse. My mother, who didn't get on the internet until her fifties is a terror with email and links. They really want to claim that a guy who can't get on the internet can grasp the complexities of what's going on in Iraq, can keep track of the situation in Afghanistan and can lead this country to sane policies regarding education, energy, crime prevention, transportation, etc.?

  9. Remember "Microsoft Bob"? Maybe we should send his campaign a copy

  10. We're still helping Grampa with the ATM machine, this comes to me as no shock. One of my co-workers is 72 and can't enter "8:30 AM" onto her timesheet correctly without my assistance, even though the keyboard is no different than any typewriter from 1952. Most elderly just can't get the hang of that kind of stuff, it's like some kind of generational mental gap.
