We could use some good thoughts

Updated: The PET scan is on for Tuesday morning. I hope we find something to fix without major surgery!

Those of you who also know me over on Facebook (ahem, Chris Hull) would have seen this status update:

Skyler Update: His blood work came back and is showing signs of an early infection. We repeat the blood work Monday, then if the markers go up any, we do a PET scan. If that shows a problem in his back, we go in for surgery to have his hardware removed and go on antibiotics.

Well, here is the whole story. 2 1/2 years ago Skyler had a curve in his spine that was becoming way too pronounced to let go anymore. It was becoming a problem for his internal organs, they were starting to get squeezed.

So we had a rather involved surgery that straightened his spine and supported it with some pretty nasty looking rods and screws.

Skyler has been having some low level pain for awhile now, and it is getting worse. So the doctors are afraid that he might be developing an infection around the hardware. We get another blood test Monday (12th) to see where his levels are, and if the go up they will order a pet scan to try and diagnose where the problem is in his body. We are going to push for the scan even if the levels do not go up, because we need to find out what is going on with our little dude.
