Here Comes Johnny Yen Again...: Follow the Grey-Brick Road...

Reminded me I had this stashed away. The very last of Gary Larsons fine series, The Far Side.

I'll have to show you some of the great Red Meat comics from the collection I picked up in Arizona. Do you get that out there?

  3. JY: My pleasure, it was my favorite.

Kirby: Never heard of Red Meat, we don't get it here. Maybe it could replace Blondie...

you know, Larson once said he'd like to open up a restaurant that served only cold cereal....

    what a mind!!

Oh, Kirby: I've got a Red Meat tee-shirt with the pipe-smokin' dad walking with a handgun and no shirt. Caption says: "not now, honeycakes, I'm on Nude Patrol!!"

  5. BO: That is Larsons mind alright. The San Francisco Chronicle was the first paper to run his strip, the editor had him come in to see what the deal was with this "weirdo", and the rest was history.

  6. The Reader, the main free paper here in Chicago carries Red Meat.

  8. I've never seen it either - very Bob Newhart-like!

  10. My favorite Far Side is one with 2 deer. One has a bulleye on it's side. The caption is " Bummer of a birthmark, Dude".
Red Meat sounds interesting. Twisted? That's good!

  11. Prince Valiant is great. Nice hair. I read Crankshaft because it reminds me of my father-in-law. Curmudgeons of the world unite.

  12. Whatever happened to Gary Larson?

  13. JY: It sounded just right to me - but that's me!

GKL: I hadn't thought of it that way, you are right.

Cheer: Prince valiant? It's like I don't even know you... ;^)

Sandi: Crankshaft is great, especially when lighting his BBQ.
