South Park takes on the Internet

From ValleyWag, comes this wonderful bit:

Viacom continues to pursue a $1 billion lawsuit against Google's YouTube for allowing video piracy. On Viacom's Comedy Central, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone aren't helping their corporate parent's legal case. In last night's episode, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny asked themselves "How Do We Make Money on the Internet?" and predictably, they find it difficult — just like YouTube. This leads to a South Park scene straight out of Viacom CEO Philippe Daumann's dreams as, one by one, the viral-video sensations that made YouTube so big are destroyed. Here's the scene in two clips.

WARNING: Like everything else on South Park, it's graphic!

  1. This is why I make sure any success I have is of the underwhelming variety. I want us all to just get along.

    I loved the clips!

  3. I don't know how, but I missed the sneezing panda so I had to go watch. I found it funnier than South Park!

  4. here's THE sickest thing about the whole biz: we watched this episode the other day-- NORTON!, The Country Monk and a whole passel of Lost Boys (teenagers).

*I* have not watched television in about 28 years or so, BUT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO STARTED LAFFIN' AT "CHOCOLATE RAIN" AND COULD NOT STOP UNTIL WAAAAY AFTER THE WHOLE SCENE ENDED.

Seriously, I was in danger of choking and diaphragm spasms I was laffin' so much and NO ONE ELSE IN THE ROOM HAD SEEN ANY OF THESE VIDS.

Of course, at least 2/3 of them have appeared HERE, Sky Dad, and I'm the only one here @ Possum Lodge who reads your blog, sooooo....

So far this season I've counted three watchable episodes. That's two more watchable episodes than South Park had last year. Let's hope the trend continues.
