24 hours of air traffic
This is a NASA recording of world-wide air traffic flow over a 24 hour period. Note the terminator (the line between day and night) as it moves from East to West. Kinda interesting as to how many flights there are over the globe.
And it feels like I just took half of those.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
fascinating, really....
ReplyDeleteThat's incredible. I'll have to show my Dad (he works for Boeing) I think he'd get a kick out of that.
ReplyDeleteThat's fascinating. It also goes to show why I will always remember being disturbed on 9/11 by the clear blue sky with no planes flying overhead, until I saw one of the Air Force One flights heading to Nebraska while on a smoke break. You just take for granted the air streams in the sky until they aren't there reassuring you that everything is as it should be.
ReplyDeleteWOW... it was watching the ebb and flow of life around the world... You could see when each city fell asleep and woke up.
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness

That was pretty cool. It's fascinating to see, literally, the connection between North America and Europe looking like a tether stretched between the two continents
ReplyDeleteI'm more frightened than anything after seeing that. Why aren't they all crashing into each other? Mind blowing.
ReplyDeleteThat's honkin' awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery very cool.
