Quick status update on Skyler; with photos!!
Updated: I have some pictures of the procedure, if you are geeky like me and like that kind of thing. They are posted over at Skylers Spine and there is a road map of the areas they look at with photos taken through the scope. I put them over there so you have to go click to look, because I know how sensitive some of you are... :^)
Hi all, we just got home from the hospital. They found two spots in Skylers stomach that have problems, one is an ulcer on his G-Tube spot, and the other is a "linear erosion" on the stomach wall. So we are going to go get some prescriptions filled for some medicine to give him for both. It is like a drinkable liquid "bandage" for the stomach, sounds pretty wild!
Skyler did very well with the whole thing, he is quite the trooper these days. Kathy is going to the pharmacy and I am taking care of him, but I wanted to check in and let you all know what's up.
Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate all of the nice comments and well wishes on and off the blog,
Sky-Dad

Wonderful news! Well...not wonderful, I guess, but good that it's something fixable and that he's got the medicine to get it fixed now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update!
Glad he's doing well! Looks like it's the week to go to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteLiquid bandages? Is this hospital in the future?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all's en route to well, and hope that journey is a quick one.
Thanks for the update. It's a relief to know it's treatable :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he's going to be ok. Thanks for the update. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping us updated. That is one tough kid you've got there!!
ReplyDeleteA drinkable liquid bandage? Ewww. Doesn't sound too tasty, does it? But hopefully it's not too awful.
Glad he is going to be Ok....how about you and Kathy? Are you ok?
ReplyDeleteGood news to read about this - sending hugs to you, Kathy and Skyler
ReplyDeleteGo Skyler! Tell him I said that ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat news! Will be keeping you all in my thoughts! XOXO
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear everything's treatable. Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the doctors can keep this under control. You had a rough day. Try to get some rest.
ReplyDelete"liquid bandage for the stomach" sounds so wonderfully space-agey, like something used to fix someone up on the Jetsons, or something. I wonder whats in it? And is it green like that fix-a-flat stuff they use in bike tires?? (lord, I apologize).
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all is well, or at least going to BE well!! We've been thinkin' 'boutcha-- it's almost as cold HERE as it is out THERE, but we've got more oxygen.
Great news! Glad to hear medical technology is saving the day even if it's a little hell getting past some of the people in that hospital. It all worked out. ;)
ReplyDeletei am so glad he is doing better! more good thoughts and wishes
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that Sky is doing better.
