Axis of Awesome, 4 Chords, 36 Songs

36 songs that all use the same 4 chords that are in Journeys "Don't Stop Believing", the premise here I believe is that all the others ripped off Journey.

Even the bands that came before Journey...

  1. I had to make it stop. I'm sorry, maybe it was the bourbon, but that was too funny

  4. That's fantastic! I remember years and years ago realizing that "Louie Louie" played backwards (chordwise) comes out as Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride."

A buddy of mine put for the proposition that there hasn't been an original guitar lick written since 1972 -- they're all the same chord structure with different "frills" added. I think he's kinda got a point...

  6. Maybe the premise is, "If you want your song to make the charts, use these four chords"?

  7. It's no "Born to Run." Although it's close. Very close.

  12. This is why Journey should have been stopped much earlier than they were.
