Edwards wife's cancer is back, not cureable

I was just listening to the news and caught the story about Elizabeth Edwards. They were saying her cancer has returned and is in the bone. They also interviewed one of the many doctors that news stations seem to keep on staff these days, and she was saying that the language they were using gave hints to the extent that the cancer had spread, and how bad it was.

Language like fighting the symptoms, not the disease, and alternative remedies were used, which usually means that it's pretty far along, and just make the patient comfortable.

This is quite the bummer week, my best friend Pam found out that she has to have a breast removed because of cancer also.

Why can't this damned disease be beat?

Would it be selfish of me to say that I hope he keeps in the race? They seem like adults with an honest to god relationship. Were I in the same position I'd want my husband fighting to protect not only my kid's future, but the country's future. It's bigger than one person, and from what I've read about both of them, they seem to understand that.

Sorry to hear about your friend Pam. Good, positive thoughts coming that way.

  4. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

My best friend had testicular cancer about 20 years ago. He's clean and healthy these days.

I was greatly saddened to hear about Edwards' wife. But like Kirby, I hope he stays in the race. He's my favorite.

If the Democratic Primary were held in the Yen household, I think that Barack Obama would win. My wife likes Hillary, and both my kids are Barack fans, though if Al Gore threw his hat in the ring, my son would switch to him.
