Thank you 3M

I was inspired by Dick's picture today...

  1. Yesterday, on the way home from work, I saw a car with extensive duct tape body work done on the front end. This is not unusual in and of itself-- I see lots of duct tape repair work nearly every day and have myself actually done duct tape repairs to cars, couches, children, etc. What was unusual was that it was a relatively new Mercedes. One would think that if one had the vanity (and money) to buy a new Mercedes, you would have to vanity (and money) to get bodywork done in a timely and non-duct tape manner.

if any of you like medieval costumes, an easy way to make a pattern for a lady's bodice is to do this:

    A) have said lady put on an old tee-shirt.
    B) wrap said lady tightly with lots of duct tape.
    C) cut said tee-shirt off wrapped lady by slitting the shirt-with-tape up the side
    D) le voila! You now have a individualized bodice pattern! Lay pattern on fabric, cut out and put gromits up side where cut was!

We did this with mine goodwife and had a grand time.

  8. remember a few years back when the government suggested that we use duct tape to protect ourselves from terrorist attacks?

Well, back then I made little ribbons-- like breast cancer ribbons-- out of duct tape and was amazed to find that people would actually BUY them from me!! Granted, it was only about a quarter apiece, but still. Tell me that sarcasm ain't alive and well in today's world.

Oh, and Johnny-- maybe after they sunk all that dough into the car they couldn't AFFORD to have it fixed??
