Including Samuel

Very good, touching preview of a movie coming out soon about trying to include a young boy with CP into society. It is a little slice of our life with Skyler, and makes me happy and sad at the same time to watch.

  1. Nice. Can you imagine how people learned about things before documentaries? I can't.

Thanks. Especially relevant for me these days since my husband is all torn up over one of his co-workers kids (who has CP) losing the SS benefits he's had since birth.

    You're a great dad, Dad!
However, I don't think anyone who doesn't have a child or a loved one with CP will be able to relate to this movie like someone who has a child or a loved one with CP, like yourself. Of course I could be wrong, since I can't view the trailer.. but if you haven't actually lived through something yourself, you can't really appreciate it. As with any hardship in life, people can say they understand, but unless they lived through it, I don't think so.

  4. Pistols: I read someplace recently where the average college kid will be exposed to more info their freshman year than most people accumulated in their lifetime a generation ago!

Kirby: Do you know why he lost benefits? Budget cuts, or is the family making too much money?

Dick: Thank you very much, as always, you humble me.

  5. I've learned a lot about inclusion (or lack thereof) just by being your cubie over the years. I'd be interested in the movie and I don't have a kid with CP.

Man, that kid Samuel is a cutie. Now only if he wasn't a Red Sox fan. ;)

I guess The Man decided his income was too high and cut his benefits. The guy appealed, and got a check for $80. That's it.
