Skyler is happy for awhile playing a DVD, and I have a few minutes to write something down in this little electronic corner of the universe.

But why on earth would I try and organize any thoughts on a snow day?  That would require effort and ambition, both of which are in short supply today...

    Hi Chris, these are really funny. Love the bear in the wagon.
    I've been MIA lately. Just been really busy watching my grand daughter while my daughter does in-home pediatrics; she loves it. I don't know why, but it made me think of you & Skyler. Hope everyone on your end is ok.

Random thoughts from a well-medicated brain

I haven't done any serious posts in quite sometime now.  Mostly because I have been in a serious rut, and just haven't felt it.  But I think the main reason has been the low level (and sometimes high level) of pain that I have been in.  Those of you who know me on Facebook know that I have been having a lot of troubles with my back lately.  The pain has been intense and I have not been able to help take care of Skyler.  This next Thursday the 27th I will be getting a series of 4 shots into the L4-L5 and L5-S1 vertebra to see if that can give me any relief.  I certainly hope it does, because I can't live my life on muscle relaxers and narcotic pain killers. Let me rephrase that... I would love to live my life on narcotic pain killers.  But I can't, because on occasion I need to think and shit like that...   For those of you into the mechanics of the back, the red arrow shows the lack of a disk between L4-L5, and the two blue arrows show the disks that are bulg

Goodbye old friend. Hootie: 1997-2009

I'll never forget the day I first saw him. We were driving home from Golden and Kathy said "Why don't you go this way?" We headed down a street I had never been on and found ourselves driving by a little strip mall. Then Kathy says "Turn in here a minute." Now my spidey senses are on alert, and sure enough, we wind up parking in front of a pet store. Kathy had been out in Golden a couple of days before and had found Hootie sitting in a cage looking so lonely. When we walked in, there was a sad little puppy up high in his own cage, with a sign that had 2 different prices crossed out and the third was pretty low. He had been taken and then returned to the pet store. I knew right then that we were heading home with another dog, I had been suckered! I still wasn't quite over the loss of our Golden Retriever, but I never do seem to get over the loss of a pet.
