A wonderful story
This is a story of a young man with Cerebral Palsy, like Skyler has. While Ben Comen is not as involved as Skyler, he speaks of some of the same things that Skyler wants - a place to belong and acceptance.
I am seemingly a collection of differences; a mountain man living on the plains, a small town boy living in the city, and a simple soul working in a high-tech environment. I love being outside, but work inside, quick to cry at a Kodak commercial, but with a military background. But most of all, I am the father of a wonderful boy with Cerebral Palsy.
Today I did an hour on the treadmill, then I walked to the supermarket for groceries, then I walked a mile home, then I bitched about it to myself because OMG TIRED. Then I watched this, and well, don't I feel like an asshole.
ReplyDeleteYay for Ben!! I hope that Skyler gets to find exactly what makes him happy too! Other than cute weather girls. :) Or I should say, "AS WELL AS".
Thanks Veggie, I always get all emotional over stories like this one.
ReplyDeleteIn contrast to Veg, I feel like an asshole pretty much all the time, so I can watch stuff like this with no problem.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! He has some great people in his life. And disabled people are nothing if not tenacious.
ReplyDeleteA trus profile in courage and determination.
